The modern witchcraft religion of Wicca uses two books to record spiritual discovery and practices. Unlike many modern religions, these are not standardized “holy texts” of the religion, but actually journals kept by individual practitioners or covens:
Book of Shadows - Used to record rituals, spells, and practices. Some covens keep one master book of shadows, allowing others to copy down sections for their own practice.
Book of Mirrors - This book is more personal, and generally not shared with others. It can be used to record anything relating to an individual’s spiritual discovery.
These are notes on “general” practices. Not every Wicca practitioner or coven is the same.
